Latest spreads

I'm uber happy with how this is going. these are some spreads so far, need to add in text. the text will be like the objects: either handwritten / printed out and then scanned in. just doesn't seem right to have the text just popped in. makes it seem flat / fugly.

feedback as always is welcome!

Power of Three

I have three questions re: my book that I'd greatly appreciate feedback on.

1) Would coptic stitching with brown, davy-board-like covers be appropriate for this book? the rationale being that it is raw, simple, and personal. If not, please suggest what might be appropriate aesthetically.

2) I want to avoid categorizing the items because that's too cold & data-like for this kind of a personal project & content. Any suggestions as to what kind of story/narrative I should use to order the items?

3) Would it add to the book to have little takeaways like coasters or reproductions of some of the items?

Some really rough spreads

Not satisfied with these, each one looks different.
I believe that I will be printing out photos and scanning them to give them more of a tactile, real-ness, like the first spread.

Slip case & cover

I want to have the book incased in a white box, with a reveal [through a smile-like cut to separate the two halves] of a white impression on the cover. Cover art to be refined, for sure.

And one of my favourite additions:

Shíhou (Moment)

Shíhou is Mandarin for A Moment [in time]. And that is what I'm trying to illustrate through my book project. Something as small and common as a bus transfer can signify so much. I want to focus on items that have a story, either great or small, but most importantly, more than you would expect. Therefore I'd be avoiding photographs [some are self explanatory or predictable].

The book will be very organic and personal, a collection of my own as well as friends' experiences. We all have some form of a shoebox kicking around that's full of "moments" that mean something, be it a "first date" or a "first concert."

I hope to build much more into this and develop an underlying narrative throughout the book.
